video in a pub in Ireland while it was banned for being blasphemous
after Mass, the priest said: "So, shall we all watch a video? There's 'The Life of John Paul II' (or somesuch), or The Life of Brian".

The great thing about watching it with a room full of Catholics is that they get all of the jokes.

    Cool priest.

We had a great one in school who was constantly on about performance cars.

On about prients you will all have heard of Father Ted, but what you will not know was that Dermot Morgan had created an earlier character called Father Trendy that must have been the basis for Father Ted.

That's great Pat. Did not know that!

For me, evidence of advanced society is its ability to take the p*ss out of itself.
Life of Brian did that on more than just the religious level as The Peoples Front of Judea proves as well as genius Romanus est Domum skit. And whilst we might get all uptight about humourising disability, I defy anyone to not let out a giggle when Caesar is interrogating the soldiers....Biggus Dickus!

Oh, and for the record, I thought 4 Lions was funny too, for the same reasons.

and I think that's transferable in to politics.
One "asset" of BJ and JRM for example is that they are prepared to mock themselves.
