John, it's not age. I'm grounded by a medical issue. I still feel totally up for it but cannot.

Sorry to hear that Wheeze but it sounds like you are still staying positive. I wish you well

Haha brilliant I'll keep that in mind, I'm not so sure I'm convinced though. Earlier this year a few of us from my club, calder valley and Rossendale did a Lakeland traverse in the style of a score type event. Of course, it was all honesty based but it was utterly exhausting and we even ended up staying in the luxury of the achilli ratti hut in Langdale and even then I ended up sleeping on the sofa because someone started snoring haha.

Travs, i'll have a look at that Lakeland 42, i was helping a friend on a bob graham leg 2 recce the day that was on this year it did look like a good un. I think for now though i'll be focusing on champs races and classics for 2020

I'd go the other way and say no one has a good night's sleep at the OMM so everyone is in the same boat!

Speak for yourself Ba Ba. At the Elan valley OMM, the weather was so shit that there was nothing else to do but hit the sack at 5pm. I thought I would not sleep but the next thing I knew it was 7am on Sunday!
