I think they are the best team, but they regularly bottle it (which means they aren't in reality) and have done on a number of occasions over the last decade, not least the World final.

Looking at the tournament as a whole (including the 5 nations), England have won the tournament most times, won most grand slams, and most triple crowns.
If you just look since 2000, they've also won the tournament most times.
Having said that, Wales have won the grand slam more times since it became the 6 nations. I think this is probably a greater achievement, especially when viewed against the relative success of England during this period.

Dont forget to adjust for relative size of player pools.
And its that unified desire to pull Englands pants down that drives those performances!

Absolutely, England have the larger player base and England have more money in the system.
If that isn't enough England have Eddie Jones and Eddie takes great pleasure in trying to wind up every opposing team. He doesn't seem to have learnt that this is counter productive in a tribal 6 Nations championship, poke a hornets nest full of Celts and the beggars will come out intent on stinging!
And he sounds like a prat afterwards - as in French game.
Are but he has a thousand excuses.
And what's even funnier is the nutters believe him.
Thanks for the education guys. Tribalism, it's all an alien concept with me not giving a stuff about spectator sport. I suppose the closest I could compare it with is religion.
Talking of spectator sport, my one regret is that I didn't break the habit of a lifetime to watch any of the London 2012 Olympics. From the stories I heard about the opening and closing ceremonies, I really missed out there. The only bit I did see was the triathlon in a very cramped and noisy Old Sun pub in Haworth after having run the Woodentops' Brownlee Olympic Gold Run. Date? Tuesday August 7th 2012.
Aye. I was there👍
Forward passing, crap kicking and not so many trys.
Ireland looking the best of the day.
