There was some very half hearted attempts to sing Delilah late in the second half....probably in protest against the dismal showing on the pitch. Easy to ignore and no pressure to join in!

I was listening to the second half of the England-Scotland game on the radio. They described the van der Merve try as like watching a school game when the kid who's bigger and faster than everyone else gets the ball and runs through the entire team to score a try. Having now see it, that really sums it up - an amazing try.

It made me so happy that in these days of spread defences, a side could be unstitched by pure skill and athleticism. Awesome, inspiring and totally brilliant.

It was a great run and footwork and probably put his stats up for metres made and oponents beaten - all in one go. Lovely to watch him carve through the defense.

Wales score on its own looked grim, but I thought small margins would have made it more acceptable, but not a win. Finn Russel, puts beauty in the game but doesn’t play for wales!
Wondering if we have it wrong about Gatland’s role, perhaps it is to transition, build and blood a team for 4 years hence? That would be more realistic.
Look forward to seeing how Scotland fare against Ireland and France.

It takes the sting out of losing when you see a player putting in a peerless performance. Finn Russell was essentially unplayable and it set his backs on fire.

Form says I will witness another hiding of the boys in red today. I just recall 1989 when we also scheduled for a walloping by the toffs in white......I got very drunk after that upset!

I've got a little wager with a pal of a pint on the result and a pint for every 7 points difference in the final score.

I'm hoping to get very, very, drunk
