A neighbour, another pal of mine has no real interest in Rugby Union but is one of those who has a "bucket list" of things to tick off.
Most of the items on his list are of a sporting nature and relate to the visiting of iconic stadia for a prestige event. He was hoping to visit the Millennium Stadium to see his beloved Derby County in an FA Cup or play off final, when Wembley was being rebuilt, but it never happened.

Having tried unsuccessfully for years to get a ticket for Wales v England in the Six Nations he decided 18 months ago to become a member of the WRU. He and his wife joined, received a load of merchandise, and they were lucky enough to get tickets for todays match. Being English he is not going to wear his Welsh freebie hat and scarf and is not bothered who wins as it is the occasion he is going there for.

They are staying in Cardiff for two nights and he phoned me last night to say that the atmosphere in town was fantastic but he found it a bit odd that in his hotel there was a large contingent of French supporters!

Well, at least 'your mate' Farrell did you a favour and left another possible 10 points just floating in the air

I was going down the pub to watch it, but returned from run a bit knackered and late so beer in front of the woodburner and TV on. Pleased I didn't do the pub and spend loads of money, game was not a great spectacle but felt it could have been worse for Wales.
I'm sure they will have gelled a bit by the world cup, but not expecting much, hopefully the next 6 nations we shall see them competative to all teams.
Kick off now for what I hope is some entertainment!

France Scotland was a great game to watch. Confidence is such a transformative attribute on a team (compare and contrast with England and Wales).

It looked like Scotland were going to find a way back into it with about 10 minutes to go.

Both France Scotland and Italy Ireland were terrific matches. I sat in misery in a moribund Principality stadium. ☹

At least you had the positive gumption, to buy a ticket, make the journey there, and support your team even when the 'omens' weren't good - as they also indeed turned out to be. Sioe dda!

I breathe a sigh of relief for Wales, take any win at the moment. England were dreadful and when their heads went down they didn’t even look like they had any pride in the shirt. No beers for them tonight!
