If he can get a weather window like early December 2019, when Kim set the BG winter record, that would be helpful! Batter than the crap the last few weeks.
Yes he was unlucky with the weather but he will have learned a lot from his experience which I reckon was impressive and I am sure that given the right conditions he will crack the winter round.

Doms August trip shold be interesting.

    Good luck to him.

By the way I have quite enjoyed the weather over the last few weeks, the worst thing about it has been folks constantly whinging about it instead of just getting out and dealing with it

Are wet horrible winters becoming the norm?

No, last year Jasmin had near-perfect conditions (both weather and underfoot) for her Spine Race record.
In his lifetime he suffered from unreality, as do so many Englishmen.

I seem to recall that when I started my apprenticeship (1985) I cycled to work everyday and spent the whole winter either wet or in wet weather gear, my mate was digging ditches on the fells and remembers the same.

Winters are becoming generally warmer and therefore wetter. It's far to early to say what is the new norm.
