As far as I remember (which isn't very far at all) I haven't heard Land of Dreams. But I've just ordered it from World of Books for £3.59 (with free p&p). At that price it had better be good.

you'd be better off. In the pursuit of due diligence I actually listened to the Randy Newman track. Well, as much of it as I could bear. Which wasn't much. Even "American Prayer" was better.....

My old dad gave me a copy of A Confederacy of Dunces years ago, probably shortly after it was published. He raved about it. (I think he gave copies to my brothers and sister as well, he liked it so much.) I just couldn't get into it and didn't get very far before giving up on it. Maybe I just wasn't in the right frame of mind at the time, so I'll dig it out and give it another try.

Louisiana 1927 is a good track from Newman. (Just in my opinion, of course.)

    really?
They only released six! "The Doors" and "Strange Days" are probably their best "LA Woman" and "Morrison Hotel" if you want their later, very blues influenced stuff. "American Prayer" if you want a dead Jim Morrison going on about stuff....."Waiting for the Sun" has some decent tunes and the "Soft Parade" is...erm..."interesting"....

    I think that's seven!

It doesn’t offend me because I don’t value what you think. I know that you’re only interested in nitpicking and point scoring. But perhaps other people might be interested at looking at what I’ve posted.

Incidentally the NHS recommends not taking more than 100 micrograms per day. Exactly the same as the article I linked. Personally I see no reason to take more than one tablet per day - 25 micrograms which is the typical supplement tablet. But some people who are vitamin D deficient may need to take more. I was just interested that the article had said that where people had taken far more they hadn’t been adversely affected.

"Can you recommend any particular album of theirs?" was intended as a joke. A response to "Oh no. Not another FRA forum recommended album to listen to." OK, not a very funny joke, then.

Incidentally the NHS recommends not taking more than 100 micrograms per day.
But it's updated advice recommended to "supplement with 10 micrograms daily". The advice to "not take more than" is rather like saying "don't eat more than 15 burgers a day as this might be detrimental to health". It's not a recommendation, it's pointing out the level at which it might be toxic.

Personally I see no reason to take more than one tablet per day - 25 micrograms which is the typical supplement tablet. But some people who are vitamin D deficient may need to take more.
