10.03 miles, 1,882 feet, 3 hours 9 minutes: Loughrigg trails from/to Rothay Bridge, including along the Under Loughrigg Road to Rydal Water, then Loughrigg Terrace, Deerbolts Woods, Loughrigg top, and descending down past the old golf club. Initially overcast and drizzly, but it cleared up considerably, and when I finished there was sunshine, blue sky, and clouds mainly above the high tops. A strong wind from the south west. Terrain saturated/streaming/slippery - those puddles and rivulets are back. Very few walkers about; 2 runners seen.

11.3 miles, 2,553 feet, 3 hours 17 minutes: Wansfell, but not to the Pike - the highest I got to was the 3 way junction at 1,100 feet. I took in the Roman Ruins, Borrans Park, Stagshaw Gardens, High Skelghyll, Skelghyll Lane, Mirk Lane, Wain Lane, Holbeck Lane, Low Wood, High Skelghyll, 3 way junction, Blue Hill Woods and Lane, Stock Ghyll Lane. A mixture of sunshine, blue sky, and clouds mainly above the tops. A cold breeze from the south west. A few minutes of drizzle. The tarmac was mainly dry, but elsewhere the ground was wet/saturated/streaming/slippery. Very few walkers about; 1 runner seen.

9.07 miles, 2,115 feet, 3 hours 21 minutes: Loughrigg trails. Lovely sunshine and blue sky; occasional high thin streaky clouds. No rain, no wind. The ground was frosty/icy in places from the valley floor up, depending on sun exposure - elsewhere it was damp/wet - slippery in places. Not many walkers on the fell; 2 runners seen.

6.18 miles, 2,618 feet, 2 hours 27 minutes: Wansfell Pike from 2 sides, ascending via Old Lake Road, Blue Hill Road/Lane and the Wansfell steps, going down to the top of Nanny Lane, up to the true top, back along the ridge to the Pike, then down the race route and Stock Ghyll Lane. Sunshine, blue sky, and high fluffy clouds. No rain. An unpleasantly cold strong wind from the north east. Terrain firm/hard/icy/slippery - there was not enough direct sunshine to soften the ground and melt the ice. Very few walkers about; 4 runners seen.

9.18 miles, 2,403 feet, 2 hours 51 minutes: Ambleside - Rydal Park - Low Sweden Bridge - rock step - High Sweden Bridge - Roundhill Farm - Middle Grove Cottages - Stock Ghyll Lane - Blue Hill Road/Lane - Stock Ghyll Lane again - Ambleside. Mainly overcast, with the cloud base at about 2,200 feet. Bits of sunshine/blue sky. No rain. A very strong cold blustery wind from the north. The ground was mainly dry with good grip. Quite a few walkers about; no runners seen.

That wind was thoroughly unpleasant, and would surely have been dangerous higher up. I did not tackle the rock step, but just went up to underneath it.
