Sawing off a few branches of the neighbour's Leylandii that are leaning over my garden. Used muscles that don't get much exercise, so quite tiring.
In his lifetime he suffered from unreality, as do so many Englishmen.

I hope you threw them back over into the neighbours garden!

14.63 miles, 3,438 feet, 3 hour 44 minutes: Fairfield Horseshoe anti-clockwise, descent via Alcock Tarn. Approaching Nab Scar it was like a shopping mall escalator on a Saturday. Nice cool breeze on top, too warm in the valleys. Glad I started at 8 am, as did several other fell runners.

Cracking day. A bit squelchy in places compared to how it was all Spring.

10.89 miles, 3,186 feet, 3 hours 5 minutes: Low Sweden Bridge, Low and High Pike, High Bakestones just below Dove Crag, Scandale Pass, Red Screes. Gosh it is hot if you start just before midday. Nothing to drink as usual - thirsty at the end. Fells/town busy, but not as bad as on the weekend.

5.14 miles, 174 feet, 49 minutes: the lower, normally quieter roads of Ambleside. So humid. Very busy. Should have gone high, but HIIT at 7 am left me knackered.

5.01 miles, 1,512 feet, 1 hour 28 minutes: Wansfell Pike. Hottest run I can recall in the UK. My Garmin said it was up to 95F, though I am not sure what it actually measures. Very little breeze, and so humid. There are several little sections going up to the Pike, about a dozen, that I usually run. Each takes 40 to 60 seconds. Even walking them today was hard work. I have run in over 100F in Oz - that was truly grim.

Very few on the fell; Borrans Park was understandably heaving.

7.42 miles, 758 feet, 73 minutes: Skelwith Bridge/Drunken Duck. Lovely shady route; nice and quiet. No tights for the first time this year!

7.3 miles, 761 feet, 73 minutes: same route as yesterday - did not have to double back to avoid anybody. Mrs T walked the same route earlier - agrees it is lovely and quiet and cool.

11k on the bike. All flat and scenery to die for.
    Beautiful place.
