Not the Raves but I did dive there in the early 70s when it first opened up and I've done a free abseil to the gantry a few times - never fancied the climbing in it though. I used to work nearby as well.

I never knew there was a cave on loughrigg! Something to look at when things ease up.

Today's PDE on a glorious evening was a 30 miles and 2,500 feet road ride around Chelmorton, Earl Sterndale, Biggin and Monyash. These are roads I regularly cycle on and today was by far the busiest, for numbers of cyclists, since the restrictions started. Perhaps people held back over the Bank Holiday W/E and are now going for it!

Thanks - Did the sump a few times but just the outer parts of the tunnels. Home made wetsuit, twin hose DV, 40 cubic foot cylinder - those were the days!

Done my off road loop round the old mines on the bike, 8.5 miles with 1825ft of upydowny which was plenty for me today, but pleased with it.

Not so hilly compared to some of our other efforts.

Started off with a cheeky sneak through Pleasington Golf Club which is normally out of bounds (no pun intended )
It looks a fantastic course and gave some really great views of the areas between Hoghton and Pleasington from a different perspective. It was weird to look down on the high viaduct that straddles the gorge at Hoghton Bottoms from the 12th tee.

From just above Hoghton bottoms plotted completely new routes for me. 4 to 10 miles was all new terrain and really pleasant countryside, other than crossing a few roads.

If weather holds out, might get tempted with Great Hill on Friday.
