Yep. Oxy-aectylene and stick were the go to processes when I started welding.

Best thing with gas was if you travelled to slow or got too close the weld pool exploded and sprayed red hot metal on you.

Now when TIG welding it just contaminats the tungsten and you have a walk to grinder.

Stick welding is still a tough skill to learn with the number of stop/starts and slope and tilt angles.

I've a good job and even better when I get my bollocking for attending.

On the tee at 8am tomorrow.

5.5 miles, 151 feet, 51 minutes: Roman ruins. Knackered after a HIIT session at 9.15 and then a Broga session at midday.
Some light rain at times - tomorrow looks good.
Crossed the road to avoid a chap - so he crosses diagonally towards me, coughing as he comes. WTF.

12.44 miles, 3,389 feet, 3 hours 5 minutes: Fairfield Horseshoe. Lots on the fell - felt back to normal apart from the roads and town being quiet. Perfect running conditions.

9.21 miles, 860 feet, 1 hour 28 minutes: figure of 8 to Outgate, passing the Drunken Duck twice. All on roads, nice and quiet.

7.34 miles, 433 feet, 65 minutes: Borran's Park, streets of Ambleside. Some holiday cottages occupied - beats wild campers I suppose.

Evening walk up Beacon Hill yesterday. Many groups of people around the summit at 9pm, and more on their way up. Presumably wanting to see the sunset on the Summer Solstice.
