    Question Walsh PB Racer fit

Having been a inov8 Xtalon 210 user for years I decided to try a pair of Walshies just for a change. However, they have arrived and are quite tight. Do they need 'running in?' or have I just purchased the wrong size? or has anyone got any tips to ease the tightness. (I have already taken the insole out which helped) I went for the same size as my talons but I find I can run long straight out of the box with those. Any thoughts welcome.

I generally take at least half a size larger in Walsh PBs (racer or trainer) than in any other shoe. I suggest you exchange them for the same product, half a size larger.

    I concur. I am a 9 in Inov8 and a 9.5 in Walsh.

I go up a full size for Walshes. You might want the Ultra Extreme version, it's a wider fit overall.

Idiosyncratic fit of Walshes is all part of the charm. Back in t'olden days Mr Bland would advise customers to stand on a piece of paper and draw around their foot and send it in with their order....A Rite of Passage essential for adoption into the Ancient Guild of Fell Runners!

Plus it was well known that PB Racers were built on a spike last so were very snug. Those with more hobbit-like feet would have to go for PB Trainers, built on a wider last but (by implication) for midfield plodders, not race winning gazelles!!

I always found them a lot more comfortable when they were wet.
