    Munro's round

Donnie Campbell is doing a self-propelled round of the munros/munro's(?). He started on 1st AUgust and there's a month of dot-watching for you.
His initial schedule is for 33 days and 'ambitious' as he has said. This is very weather dependent - e.g. he could be sitting waiting for a Cuillin weather window for a while!
Spyke has the current record of 39 days 6h, set in 2010.

    Spyke's 2010 schedule is here: http://chris-upson.com/Munros/SpykeMunroSchedule.pdf

SO it seems Donnie has done in D3 what Spyke did over D3 and D4.

According to the tracker, he missed out Aonach Mor (near Ben Nevis).
In his lifetime he suffered from unreality, as do so many Englishmen.

I'm guessing he dumped his bag, which had the tracker on it, for the out and back. It's a pretty obvious lump to not miss out.

I was just looking at where he is now, and couldn't help noticing that there's a route for a brilliant AM race round the Coire Dhomhain horseshoe from Drumochter. Five peaks, three of them Munros. At a conservative estimate (from just looking at the map), around 15km with 1050m of climbing. Unfortunately no-one lives in the area, so it might be difficult to find an organiser.

Yes that does look like it would be quite an intense race route...!

When i was in Skye last year i was formulating a Red Cuillin Three (or possibly four) Peaks Race in my head, which would be quite a tough medium!

A long day tomorrow: 12 Munros, widely scattered over the area between Glenshee and Glen Garry.

    Fascinating dot watching.

Donny and John Kelly are just about to cross paths between Mullach Nan Coirean and Stob Ban. I wonder if they'll stop for a chat and compare notes.

Donny's doing the Mamores well inside a 24 hour Ramsey schedule. Amazing stamina.

So is John! At Sgurr a' Mhaim (mislabelled on his tracker) he was about 50 mins up on his 23hr schedule. Wonder if he's trying to bank some time so he can have a kip?
