    Club histories

Slightly left-field, but which Fell clubs (or athletic clubs that are active on the Fell scene) have substantive written histories - either in book form or online.

    Bingley

    Black Combe

Rob Grillo's book Staying the Distance has a lot on Keighley Clubs

    In the FRA Index:

Section 2 Bill Smith - 3 articles on the history of Clayton-Le-Moors

Section 4 of the same index includes several club histories

Section 8 refers to Rob Grillo's two 2005 articles on Fell Running Books which might refer to published club histories.

Thanks Graham. Should have thought of looking at the excellent Fellrunner Index (that some fine fellow put up recently)! Will follow those up. First three I have found or been suggested to me. Cheers

Bill also did some Profiles of runners you may be interested in and I assume you will know there was a 2 part article in Up & Down # 9 & 10 in 1992 on a subject of current interest to you.

Yep. Have filtered for profiles and have a long list to check through, and have copies of Up and Down articles. Thanks for heads-up on both leads though.

    Don't forget "Ten Years of D.P.F.R." (1976-1986)

I started a thread about Fell Running Books a few years ago.

I must update it as there have been a few more books published since 2008.
