Does anyone know if this race is on this year as it should be in the next few weeks? I can't find any information anywhere!

It doesn't look good for this year - all I've found is the following reference:

" Sadly in 2011 cattle were spooked by runers on the Low and Roger Arden raised a bill for damages casting a shadow on the future of the race."

Spectating today at the resurrected "Chelly Chase" due to injury. Only 67 runners took part despite a team prize on offer of £100, won incidentally by Dark Peak. Perhaps the fact that the new route has less than 500 feet of ascent and at least 2 of the 5 miles is on tarmac was the reason. Or maybe the low turnout was because in the FRA listings it states that "GPS allowed for navigation".
To be honest, having run the route , I cannot see how it gets FRA registration, even though it is a pleasant enough run.

I think historically it had FRA registration and no one has looked at the new route that probably wouldn't meet the criteria now. It was a super friendly event though and the RO was a lot of fun and probably the best dressed RO in the history of racing! Also a stroke of genius to have the local Vicar giving the prizes to ensure good weather haha. Lovely marshals, supporters and runners. A lot of our Buxton AC runners were with their kids at the School Fell Championships in Giggleswick or we would of had a lot more there.
Hope your injury gets sorted soon so you can get off that bike before you get used to all that Lycra!

Thanks Mrs RTS. I am getting used to it. Just back from a glorious 60 miler in the Staffordshire Moorlands and Goyt Valley.
