Has anyone else registered with this on Sunday, and did you get an email acknowledgement? I've heard nothing. Payment to be on-the-day but I see no mention of how much. I assume it's going ahead??

Well, it was on. There were 12 of us in total. I was told the attendance is usually much higher than that. Perhaps their publicity and communication were left wanting this year? Next year will be their 25th anniversary according to the enthusiastic master of ceremonies.

I enjoyed running the fields and tracks among the limestone walls, including part of the Bullock Smithy Hike route past the Chelmorton checkpoint which I'd run just one month before in the fading light in much drier and warmer conditions.

I should have gone to this one, I would have been guaranteed my highest ever finish by some margin.

It's a shame that the entry was so low, and even though it's not really a fell race, the organiser, Lady of Hollinsclough, puts so much effort in it deserves a bigger turnout.

This year it had so many events competing against it over the weekend, some rearranged, including the Limestone Way Full and Half marathon, The Eyam Half marathon, the first round of the local xc league, Saturdays Curbar Commotion and of course The London Marathon and is sidekick, the load of bollocks, virtual London Marathon. Whats all that about? If you want to run a race go and run it, don't pretend! And these people even pay for the pretence. What prats.

Anyway the Chelmorton Chase is celebrating 25 years next year so if I'm still around I'll be giving it a go again!
Visibility good except in Hill Fog
