Who did you want to be?

Just doing the Sunday Crossword and the answer to one of the clues was Kip Keino.

It reminded me that having watched him win the Gold medal in the 3,000 metres steeplechase at the 1972 Munich Olympics, that's who I wanted to be.

As a 13 yrs old running through the woods and fields and at cross country in Llanidloes I WAS Kip Keino.
Unfortunately I got no where near his dizzy heights but it was great fun being him.

Who did you want to be?
Visibility good except in Hill Fog

    It probably went, in order:
    Stuart Mccall (footballer)
Eddie van Halen (guitarist - recently deceased - that made me feel old)
    Johnny Dawes (rock climber)

Don't roll with a pig in poo. You get covered in poo and the pig likes it.

Always been happy with who and what I am, although David Gilmours skills with a guitar would have added a little to my contentment

Lenin, turning Britain into a communist paradise.
In his lifetime he suffered from unreality, as do so many Englishmen.

but back to Llanis original question, I guess he meant which sporting hero did you want to be.
Jean Pierre Rives for me although Daley Thompson would be a close second!
