    COVID

Our year was really impacted by this bloody COVID.

    The bad:
I couldn't visit my mum more than a week in January, 1000+ km away, she just became a widow for the second time. She also got infected (only minor symptoms).
My 10yr old lost six months of school. Teacher could have arranged something online or whatever but preferred to have a sofa netflix holiday and make up excuses. She also had to stop swimming, scout, and playing with many friends.
My wife could not visit her mum neither, 10000km away, the (bloody expensive) flight got refunded but after infinitillions of calls emails and stress
Had to cancel summer holiday. It would have been either Riva del Garda to see mum, or Sardinia because it's the bestest see ever, or Dolomites because bestest mountains ever. Yes, I'm italian.
Wife and daughter had to switch music lesson (violin) to online.

    The good:
    Saved cost of summer holiday.
Saved membership fee from the swimming pool, 42.5eur a month
Worked less. Mind you, I do like my job just it's too bloody hard. Especially worked many fewer night shifts.
Spent much time at home, home office, so I managed to make my 10yr old to eat fruit and veg.
Much time for cycling. Hope to make it 10000m elevation gain by year end.
Much time to work in the garden: built raised veg, enough for 50+ Kg tomatoes, I'm super proud. Also made 100+ jar of cherry jams from the garden tree. Yes, big garden.
Had time to build own furniture. When a pro sees them he'll think they are crappy (yes, they are), but they are still good to me.
