Thread: Strava kudos from strangers WTF????

    Strava kudos from strangers WTF????

Why the hell do I get Strava kudos from strangers?????
I mean, people I've never ever met, no common friends, no common clubs, nothing.
Sometimes I even get kudos from someone living thousands of miles away.
I don't mind, but I do find it very odd to say the least.
    Are they scam? Or what?

I'm not elite, never been, not even sub-elite. I can't even be bothered to race any more. I'm just a very average cycling and running enthusiast, approaching 50.

I've always assumed it's a weird social media kind of thing where they hope by giving kudos/following you you'll then reciprocate and it will look like they're excellent wonderful people with lots of friends. I ignore it. For no apparent reason I have a couple of followers from Germany and the US. If you're reading, hi Mike Mangione and Frank Amrheim! (Who are you?)

This is the most plausible I can think of. Like having many facebook friends, or LinkedIn contacts. Not necessarily evil. But very weird.

PS. I hope I'm still ok with following Chris Froome and Kilian Jornet, never mind we're strangers...

I've had a Strava gadget for bike and running for 11 weeks (I don't subscribe, just the free recording)and I still only have 3 followers, that I know, who give me kudos - when they are suitably impressed with my efforts and remember.
I feel like Moley no Mates .
Don't roll with a pig in poo. You get covered in poo and the pig likes it.

Of course I am. And every hot bird dreams of me in her wildest fantasies.
But still.... Strava kudos? From random blokes? What for?

That's what happens when you spend so much time in the forestry. No one can see you!

What are followers, what is kudos, what is strava?
In his lifetime he suffered from unreality, as do so many Englishmen.
