Talking People bringing cakes into work

Does this happen at anyone else's work?

The dyke from HR has just walked in with 12 cream cakes....what’s that all about?

Some other woman has just walked in shoutin' "ooh sticky buns"!!

And as I tap my keyboard I can hear the vibrations as the office elephant pounds her way across the floor to the free calories! Ergh

    Had a sponge eclair myself

They always bring in their unwanted chocolates (xmas pressies) at our place.

They're frightened to death to eat 'em - New Years Resolutions and all that!

It is a bit of a pain though when you're trying to lose a few pounds.

It happens here on birthdays. Can't believe how many cakes some people can get through! I've had some croisants this morning which were left overs from someones birthday yesterday.

All up to Christmas we get people bringing food in, mince pies, celebrations etc...

After Christmas we have had people bring in dozens of bags of crisps, coffe creams and at least 100 mince pies.

Then we too have the birthday ritual of bringing in cake or sweets.

I work for a Cosmetic Surgery company, so all the women are on diets all the time, there are 8 blokes to 120 women at our HQ and although it is burden I eat more than my share of cake to help the girls stay in shape.
There are not enough days in the week to for training, rest and racing.

It is the HR girls bday soon. I hope she will be getting her buns out. Perhaps I should offer to 'ice' them for her!!??!!!...

God yes. When it's your birthday you have to buy everyone else their cake of choice.
Luckily, playing scrooge, I bought mine on the 22nd Dec when only about 15 out of 30 people were working!
And if you're lucky then you get another cake in the afternoon as part of the 'birthday raffle'
