Dumbbell bicep curls 2x10kg. Eccentric lowering (count of 5). 3 min rest between sets (rest doesn't include the set time).

    25-20-17-12-12-10

Hopefully, mixing up the arm exercises, and press-ups will eventually help give me an edge on the Sally Challenge

Thanks Marco. It was certainly a grand day out. Returned to Ravenstonedale pub afterwards to meet up with friends, and the village had been in a grey murk all day.

Blessed are those who run (or ride) the high fells and byways

I didn't notice the Brocken spectre until Marco turned the picture the right way up.
In his lifetime he suffered from unreality, as do so many Englishmen.

Nice. A friend of mine captured one on Higgar Tor the same morning.
Visibility good except in Hill Fog

    Chin ups, 5 minutes = set + rest: 3 - 3 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 1 - 1.

Just for fun, before the chin ups, and indeed, before my run, I tried a 1 armed press up - not even near it. The technique is so different from with both arms that surely far more than 30 with both is a prerequisite.

Mike's version today. That is, each Set+rest= 3 mins...

    31-21-16-13-11-13(!)-12-10

    Left me feeling somewhat pumped

Obviously, the more reps you do in the first 3 mins leaves less time for recovery, so sets 2 and sets 3 were particularly brutal.

    I'd say more like 50.

When i was kickboxing and would do 50 pressups straight off as part of a warmup, could just about do a one-armed pressup.

I reckon i'd struggle to top 40 pressups straight off the bat now, and i wouldn't get anywhere near a one-arm pressup these days.

Are we talking about press-ups from the floor, or the usual press-ups where the chest is lowered to 6 inches or so above the floor before pressing up again. From the floor, which is what I have been doing, is considerably harder.

    Pressups, set + rest = 5 minutes: 21 - 17 - 14 - 14 - 12 - 12 - 12 - 12. All sets to failure.
