Decline the jab

I notice Hungary has approved the use of a Chinese vaccine, I think I might decline if I was to be offered this one.

I had mine a few weeks back at the little hospital in Bakewell. My wife go a letter this week and was initially offered appointments as far away as Manchester, on looking again today Sheffield Arena was available which she has now booked. Hathersage would be so much more convenient and I can't understand why this wasn't offered. Our GP (Baslow) is generally very good and I very much hope she gets a call from them with a more convenient location. It seems very hit and miss but whatever we will both take the best option offered and get our passports to freedom.

We are both registered with the same GP and I just got a link sent via SMS from them to book a time slot. I presume my wife's will turn up in the next few days

There might be a letter winging its way to you both Pete. I've just got my letter today and once logged on to the site there was a choice of venues across the north-east and north-west. Soonest was this friday, but it means a trip to Lancaster (45 miles). Still, I quite fancy an excuse for a drive out. I also booked the second dose for the end of May, more locally.

Mind you, I think there must be some sort of mistake though as it came with a leaflet entitled "... for older adults". That's certainly not me of course

So if you had waited a few weeks, you could have waved to Llani Boy when you passed each other, you going south to Bakewell and he going north to Hathersage.

Turned up this afternoon. So I'm getting jabbed tomorrow and Mrs S on Saturday.

My wife now has an invitation from the GP for the Bakewell cottage hospital, much closer than the Arena the other side of town. All is good, it just seems a little disorganised between GP jabs and central NHS.

Had my Astra Zeneca jab in Hathersage this morning. Looked out for bigfella on his way to Bakewell but didn't see him

Took a paracetamol before and twice since. Gardening this afternoon and a 4 mile road run this evening. Feeling fine and hopefully will do tomorrow.

Had mine at Lancaster Town Hall last Friday. 120 mile round trip, but it was either there or wait a couple of weeks for a closer venue. Arrived early, and just walked straight through, giving my name and DOB 4X, jabbed, and then ejected out some scruffy fire doors into the streets behind the Hall all in under 8 minutes . Didn't even have to sign anything - just had to say 'I do" to consent. Got AZ and all is fine, and I can't even see where they jabbed me. Was it a all just dream?

Next appointment 25 May...roll on.

I was splitting logs today ready for next winter, now have a bad back but only myself to blame.

Both of us now waiting for our second jabs.
