    I have just had a look at a gallery of national flags. I think Kiribati is my favourite, showing the land disappearing under the waves due to global warming -- oh sorry, that's supposed to be the sunrise over the ocean.

    My local auction house once had a set of 135 silver ingots showing the flags of all the UN countries - very nicely presented on baize etc.

    I enquired what they were likely to sell for and was told "well basically for the weight of the silver".

    So much for aesthetics!
