Thread: Lockdown reading

    Lockdown reading

What are folk reading in lockdown. I am ploughing through Jay Griffiths' 'Wild'.
As an antidote to the tough pitch she is on - here are a few short/medium reads for lockdown time. This lot are fell-running related pieces from my blog, a couple of which were published. Hope you find something to enjoy. https://itsahill.wordpress.com/2020/...running-stuff/

Waiting for our local library to open, had an arm full of books before the lockdown that have been read cover to cover. We really miss the library as much as anything.
Don't roll with a pig in poo. You get covered in poo and the pig likes it.

Finished The Runner by Markus Torgeby. Interesting and very committed, but never quite sure I liked him as a person.

Just started a Jason Elliot book about Iran (although the name escapes me). I read his book about Afghanistan (an Unexpected Light) years ago and it was beautiful. I’m hoping this will live up to it.

Also reread Into Thin Air. Pretty harrowing account of an Everest expedition gone tits up

No worries there, we don't have a bank . We did check, no fines!

I'm mid sci-fi: Ancillary Justice which is quite entertaining.
But I've also started My Midsummer Morning by Alistair Humphreys - he's done a few good books. This was my covid-or-not lying-in-bed-for-a-week light read.
I've got Middlemarch by George Eliot on order after being told it is the best novel ever written. I'll keep you update. I remember my aborted attempt to enjoy Ulysses by James Joyce, also allegedly very good.
