Is it not 16 hours off the existing record ?

    Sabs record - 5d 23h 49m
    JK's schedule - 5d 7h 49m ( Sat 10:00 - Thu 17:49 )

Yes, a significant 1 missing there. Going well so far, and probably glad to have the relative cool of night right now.

He's gone down to Dunmail Raise, is this a temporary rest detour or the end of the attempt ?
I saw a clip from this morning on Twitter, he was lying in a river to cool off !

I'm doing some of that to cool off after sitting at a computer for a few hours. Surely a record isn't possible in these conditions.

The tracker has now gone down the road from Dunmail Raise to Ambleside. Mike T can probably tell us which cafe he is sitting in.
In his lifetime he suffered from unreality, as do so many Englishmen.

Sadly, I haven't been to a cafe since last March! It is so hot out there I would not be surprised if he has pulled out.

Just seen on Twitter that JK has pulled out due to the heat and foot problems. Amazing effort to have even lasted this long - he doesn't get much luck with the weather!

Makes you think about Joss Naylor's record, set in a heatwave....

A couple of winter attempts set off this morning an hour apart:
    Tom Hollins
    James Gibson

Should be entertaining. Their routes are pretty much identical until they hit the North and North-Western fells. Hopefully they both last long enough to see what difference it makes.
