    More Wainwrights

Apparently this is the thing to do.
Tom Hollins (Spine winner a few years back) is into the last day and night of his go (started Sunday AM). About a leg down on the record pace.

Carol Morgan set off this morning in reverse. Scheduled for a smidge under 7 days

I think Carol's schedule is a bit more aggressive than that ba-ba :

    Fri 06:00 - Thu 01:56, ie 5d 19h 56m, and about 10 hours faster than PT's record !!

Simon, Carol’s husband, mentioned on fb that her schedule was aggressive but, with the weather set crap today, they are factoring in a really strong likelihood of a slower start. Over five or six days, there’s going to be at least one day/night of bad weather in the Lakes so maybe getting it out of the way straight off the bat will be a positive in the long haul

my bad - Friday morning maths not doing well for me!
Of those to have had a decent crack at the wainwrights, only Steve B really had a clear run at it weather-wise.

Not Wainwrights (though he did write a book about it), but Damian Hall is currently well into an attempt on the Coast to Coast record. Having been over 2hrs up on his schedule at Kirkby Stephen he was just over an hour up at the last checkpoint, so slowing from his early fast pace. I think his schedule is 36mins ahead of the record, so he's got time in the bank. Tracker here (ft. a virtual Mike Hartley): http://live.opentracking.co.uk/dhc2c21/

Well, he did it. Taken the record by 18 minutes. Some good footage from Inov8 available, it looked very, very tough.

weather over the moors was crap yesterday morning. Can normally see the cleveland hills from the window and they were invissible from a few miles away. The pitched paths up there are bad enough at the best of times, let alone when wet. At least from Clay bank on the tracks were better through to Blakey.
