    World Heritage Site

I am hoping that UNESCO does not announce that Snowdonia will be made a World Heritage Site later today.

I fear that if it becomes one then access to the mountains, especially for events organised by small organisations without financial clout such as local fell races, will be restricted even more in favour of the large, fee paying, bling adorned and profit making companies.
Visibility good except in Hill Fog

It appears that it has been made a World Heritage site; but it's only the slate quarrying areas: https://www.dailypost.co.uk/news/nor...wales-21161171 . What they seem to be saying is, "Hey, all you tourists, when you come to Snowdonia, don't bother with all those beautiful mountains and lakes; go and look at some slate waste tips instead." So maybe that would be good news for those who want some of the mountains to be less crowded.

With regard to fell races, it should only affect a few. The start of the Peris Horseshoe is through a slate quarrying area, and I think the Moelwyn Peaks course would also be affected.

Could open the door for the Mossley Hill Race?
