    UTMB TDS death.

A Czech runner has fallen to his death on this route. Apparently it was on a very steep section, the Passeur de Pralognan, where there are cables to help the participants. Those behind him were pulled from the event. I understand the TDS is shorter but higher and rougher than the UTMB itself. RIP.

    RIP.
It seems that in the past this section would have been run in daylight, but they changed the start time this year so it was tackled in the dark for the first time.

It is not the first time they ran this section in the darkness. Passeur de Pralognan and Cormet de Roselend are thery hard, steep and with the previous rains, very slippery. A friend that I coach, who was on the TDS, an expert of ultra (UTMB, CCC, GRP,... finisher) was afraid of this passage.
