So you agree that your bikes should be taxed and registered . . . and you wouldn't dare to "commandeer" a country lane. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...motorists.html
In his lifetime he suffered from unreality, as do so many Englishmen.

I'm not going down this road again but would just say that there is no one I agree with on everything but I do share some of his sentiments about cyclists which is why I usually cycle alone and am not a member of a cycling club.
Living in the Peak District I see first hand what a pain in the arse, especially at weekends, groups of cyclists can be.

And, by the way, unlike you I do not read the Daily Mail or Mail on Line

Damn right they should! And fell-runners too - cluttering up the landscape with their spikey, over-priced trainers; surprising canoodling couples, cosying-up in the heather. It's a ruddy outrage!

Now we're getting somewhere. Taxing walkers. I can see no drawbacks to this plan, and just think how much revenue it would generate.

Born again cyclists are the problem, they have gigantic senses of entitlement. All their gear tends to be new and shiny, they're easy to spot.

Brilliant idea, especially if walkers had to display confirmation of their taxed status with those coloured VED tax discs that car used to have- fastened to their collars or hats. Fatter walkers would also need to pay HGV rates, and walkers would need to take a test before they were allowed to push prams (and those modern All_Terrain thingies). Ka-ching!

Of course, the immobile would be allowed to register as SORN - it would be unfair otherwise.
