Luke Appleyard (Wharfedale)- quick on the dissent

You might find something at the above link, I can't see it as I'm not on FB.
Cause tramps like us, baby we were born to run
How was it? The idea of three laps doesn't inspire me, but perhaps it's an interesting quirk.

Tactically it works for me because you know what's coming and can plan ahead, but as we know some folk like to go on a journey and discover something, and there wasn't much of that.
There wasn't much for me to plan for though, other than trying to stay alive and breathing. I've never felt exhaustion like it since having this lergy. Looking at the results i've lost about 8% of my aerobic capacity, i should have been anything up to a minute behind Tindersticks.

With the laps being relatively short I thought it worked OK. It packed just enough terrain and ascent/descent into each lap to make it interesting. I wouldn't want to see a lot of races with laps but a few short ones here and there might add something different?
Do what you like, like what you do
Cop Hill (next weekend) is two laps for the 7 miles. Near Meltham it is used a lot for Yorkshire Vet fell championships. Although a purist might argue there isn't much fell, the long steep drag up a completely sodden farm field is tougher than you will find on any trail or cross-country race - especially on the second lap!
As for Black Lane Ends - well back in 1987 when I first raced it...
"...as dry as the Atacama desert".
