    Was about to post this

Looks like Damian Hall and Kim Collison are battling it out at the front.

I did the Spine Challenger race - the half version in summer a few years ago. I got to Hebden Bridge about 7.30 and passed Top Withens in the dark - quite spookey. After that as we climbed up Irkinshaw moor we saw lights ahead and there were a couple of lads offering us bacon butties and coffee! Would have been rude not to say - Yes Please. Just after as we got to the top of Pinhaw Beacon we saw the most amazing Brocken Spectre at dawn. The two people I was running with had never seen one before.

I see that Kim Collinson has retired. A real shame as it was shaping up to be a good battle at the front.

Damian Hall looks clear favourite now, unless he befalls a similar fate, in which case it looks wide open.

I think the above would qualify as a Colemanball, Travs.

    Remarkable!
Visibility good except in Hill Fog

No records this year as they're missing out 15 miles between Bellingham and Byrness (getting bussed). Shame as DH is flying along at the mo.

Why is that? Forestry works in Kielder Forest?
In his lifetime he suffered from unreality, as do so many Englishmen.

Storm Arwen damage, presumably affecting the stretch through forest in the second half of that leg. It's not clear why they can't cover the section up to the minor road just before the forest, but I'm guessing it's to do with the ease of bussing runners around.
