Sabrina has pulled out now, leaving it a bit tight at the front of the ladies race.

I see they've diverted runners away from Pen Y Ghent due to "poor visibility"

I have no right to question the decisions of their safety team, but diversions due to storm damage, lightning, severe ice, etc, seem reasonable. But surely poor visibility is something you expect?

I thought similar. You'd think poor visibility is a key feature of the race given it's in the north of England, in winter and most of it's in the dark. Plus it's not like the stretch over PYG is tricky to follow. Would be interesting to know more about the decision.

isn't this supposed to be self supported on the hill. we had 60% of the runners asking for water as they ran passed us by the snake, I was on the summit of Bleaklow a few years back and loads missed the turn off down the pennine way despite the sign?

1st and 2nd way out in front with big gaps, but the race for 3rd looks interesting.

Wouldn't rule out Eoin coming through and pushing for 2nd....

Yeah, he's certainly got the experience, but then Eugeni's been here before too (though maybe a bit more erratic in his performances!).

Might just be a tech issue, but DH's tracker hasn't moved for some time and doesn't have the 'no signal' icon and his name has dropped off the leaderboard...

Edit: he's now on the retired list. Hope it's nothing serious.

It must be tough going. These are hardy types.

Whilst its obviously gutting for Damian Hall, it's now a proper race again...!

Eugene has a good lead, and the diversion/coach ride through the forest will certainly help him. has he got enough advantage to stay ahead of Eoin (now in 2nd).... I haven't been watching it close enough this year, but in previous years he has occasionally forgone sleep/rest and really suffered over the Cheviots.
