    Ramsey Schedule

Hello, I don't suppose anyone has an example of a clockwise Ramsey Round schedule, with summit splits, at 24 hour pace they would be happy to share with me please? I've had a good look but seem to find one. It would really help for recce runs knowing what I need to be doing on the hills..

In one of the other forums there are quite a few threads on naismiths rule which would be helpful in trying to put your own schedule together if there's nothing already available

Thanks for the reply, naismiths rule is a good idea. I'll have a faff on with some maths when I get a chance.

I've put Finlay wilds times into excel and increased them by 60% which looks about right for some ball park summit splits..

Finlay went anti-clockwise, so not sure that his splits would help that much with a clockwise round ?

Most people seem to do it anti-clockwise these days

There's a 24 hour clockwise schedule quite far down this page
    https://fellrunningguide.co.uk/categ...-ramsay-round/
The accompanying notes say that leg 1 times were a tad ambitious and leg 3 too easy and need balanced out, but may help

yeah I put together my own thing in my local hills last year that didnt go to plan due to injury, but i put together a spreadsheet of split times using naismiths (i stupidly never went out and ran the splits) and for most of the day i was very close to my estimated splits so its quite a useful tool, i think you just have to make some slight adjustments for terrain too.

hope it helps, but i am sure there are probably ready made schedules knocking about for something like the Ramsey round.

Oh sorry I actually meant anticlockwise, briefy forgot which way clocks go round!

The one I've just worked out from FWs schedule looks reasonable enough. If anyone wants it let me know and I'll ping it you over

Good luck Bill, you'll do it this year i know it. I would offer to come and lend a hand but I have absolutely no experience of the Ramsey round (yet) so wouldnt want to get in the way.

Thanks so much for that, just the sort of thing I was looking for, not too far off the thing I've worked out myself actually - were you using the naismith rule to calculate those splits?
