    I've just realised that the positive is that when I get to 21 races I'll be able to use my bus pass to get there (or at least to the ferry) and my state pension to pay the entry fee....

    Well, Ive just got to V65 and stupidly still trying. Managed a first in my age group at a Parkrun, but in the Wharfedale 1/2 Marathon I was 3/5 V65 and a V70 beat us all. Still I enjoyed pork apple and black pudding pies on the way home, and tonights beer tastes better for being earned.

    That`s the key motivator and one of the great joys of getting older looking at the number of younger folk you still beat.

    Just stick with the positive vibes and life is great.
