    Strawberry

Just eaten a bunch of fresh "strawby" less than 5min after I picked them up in my garden.

    Taste mindblowing absolutely fantastic.

If you haven't had this luxury you just can't even imagine...

That`s maybe because I enjoy the more succulent wild strawberries that the birds should be eating

Raspberries. Not to you, I've got late ones, weeks to wait for them, but warm from the sun...

Garden strawberries are coming now, Mrs Mole had some this evening. But I far prefer raspberries and they will be a while yet.
All our strawberries and other soft fruits have to be covered by netting, otherwise there would be nothing for us, but some very fat blackbirds waddling about the garden.
Don't roll with a pig in poo. You get covered in poo and the pig likes it.

I had netting over the fruit in my garden, but about a week ago I found a dead blue tit tangled in it; so the netting has been taken away. So have all my gooseberries: thanks, pigeons. But there are still blackcurrants and raspberries.

Getting back to strawberries, and JohnK's comment about wild ones: I wouldn't describe wild strawberries as "succulent", but they are certainly full of flavour. Parts of my garden have been invaded by wild strawberries, but for the last two years they haven't produced much fruit.

The chives are flowering at the moment, there are bumble bees all over them, they prefer them to other flowers it would seem.
