Had both COVID and flu jabs and absolutely no issues. Mrs S had same COVID jab and was really out of sorts for a couple of days but just had few mild side effects from the flu jab.
Considering the potential alternatives, I'll take a vaccine anyday.

Going downhill fast
Pete, my understanding is that the concerns expressed by some (only a minority to be fair) isn't to do with the immediate effects of the jabs, but their possible longer term impacts upon the cardio-vascular health of some people.
Similarly, what has spiked some unsettledness is the intransigence of the pharmaceutical companies with being transparent about question of whether they might have prioritise ethical concerns over the interests of their shareholders.
Russell Brand has 'amusingly' (!not to everyone's taste!) summarised some of the key concerns regarding the pharmaceutical companies avoidance of answering some quite reasonable questions that people - including elected representatives - have/want to ask.

Russell Brand?
I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire!

"...as dry as the Atacama desert".
Ummmm...except that (perhaps!!!) most of them aren't about to die of thirst in the desert, but are being told they most surely will, and so must all (man, woman and child) drink the 'magic elixir' concocted in the dark depths of the souk by the Khalifa. An elixir which may, or may not, have passed through LLani's fire extinguishing process. Oh, and the Khalifa is demanding that everyone (tax-payers) cough up billions of $ in gold for the pleasure of his nearly mandated services.

I was initially extremely pleased we had a vaccine back at the end of 2020. Peace of mind for my parents and others like them was my main reason.
I was a little bemused when they started going down the age groups as far as they did. I expected it to be aimed at the same demographic as the flu jab.
Let's face it, the covid vaccine was, and still is, only under an emergency use authorisation.
I was concerned when having advised pregnant women or women planning pregnancy not to take, the advise changed quickly around June 2021 and all of a sudden midwifes were pushing the vaccine, including on my 5 months pregnant daughter.
On what evidence? It wasn't tested on any pregnant women, there was no history at all, purely conjecture.
The data produced to show how much pregnant women benefited around Sept 2021 and presented in the Commons was rigged. It showed the number of unvaccinated with problems on data going back to January at a time when it was technically impossible for anyone to have been vaccinated, so the data came from almost 100% unvaccinated.
I was even more concerned when they went after kids. The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation recommended not.
Not for under 16s in August 2021.

A little Feng Shui of the committee members and then there was a guarded change of mind and by early 2022 it's yes to 5-11 year olds.
As for the medical world generally.
It must be extremely hard when you have gone down a route on the basis of faith to consider that your faith might have been misplaced.
But there are enough people out there, who's credentials were impeccable pre-covid even if attempts have been made to discredit them since, who have been raising serious concerns.
It's also pretty clear now that the effects of the vaccine is pretty poor. You can still get covid, you can still spread covid, and in some studies vaccination has actually been seen to be less effective than no vaccination.
Any admission that maybe the effectiveness was oversold, or that the side effects appear to be played down or hidden would be a bad look for the medical world.
I'd finally add that through covid we heard a lot about excess deaths, to demonstrate the authenticity of the virus we were faced with.
Not much talk of excess deaths now, which should be lower post pandemic, having lost many of the vulnerable. But excess deaths are still running high, especially in the young to middle age and these are now non-covid excess deaths.
I expect there's a lot more to come out in due course.

I have two related children on Ritalin, for ADHD. One has been on around 4-5 years now and approaching teens.
I've asked what the out is.
You give a child a diet high in carbs, don't create an environment where they can burn them off, but stick them in front of a TV or tablet for hours on end, head off to the GP and they end up on drugs for years and the only direction of travel seems to be increased dosage.
A child who was a wiry and yes a lively 7 year old, is now an obese 12 year old.
I can't help but question the logic and morality of the way our system is dealing with such issues.
