BG support for overseas runner?
Hi all, I'm overseas (US), heading to the UK in August with my family, and hoping to attempt the Bob Graham on Tue Aug 20 (but could also flex to Mon or Wed of that week). I would be aiming for a time just a bit under 24 hours (e.g., 23:30).
I am reaching out to see if anyone might be available and interested in supporting. I do this with humility and without any expectation, knowing I haven't "paid my dues" like other more local runners. I can genuinely say I have a love of trail running (mostly focused in the mountains of the Northeast US), and have been running various routes over the past ten years here. I have been ramping up my training for a while now, putting in both mileage and elevation to do my best to be ready for the challenge.
I was able to visit last summer and recce two legs of the Bob Graham, and plan on recceing three more on Tue-Wed Aug 6-7 when I first arrive in UK this summer (I could also be available to support another attempt on those days if an opportunity arises). For my attempt, my spouse will have a car and will be able to support at road crossings.
If folks have any questions (or advice!), just let me know. If it turns out pacers aren't available for whatever reason (for example, I know a mid-week BG isn't the most convenient), no problem at all.
