So what are you letting yourself in for as an RO? Do you need a license? Have you got to go on a course? Who teaches you how to do it? I guess the route and the name are the easy bit.

Cheeky monkey!
The only race in 20 years that went spectacularly wrong (well, other races may have had incidents)
Mind you, I could write a book on the incidents...
A friend of mine organised a race a few years ago but the first running was an informal event. Initial info spread by word of mouth/whatsApp/FB to gauge interest. He got friends to help with the minimal marshaling.
All on public footpaths so no permissions sought. No entry fee but donation to local cause.
Really it was a group of runners meeting for a run but 60 turned out for the first one and 80 for the
second. Covid put a stick in the spokes as he was about to register it properly and it never got formally recognised.
The point I'm making is it might be an idea to run an informal event initially.
While I'm on MrB, hoping you,(or anyone else for that matter), are having second thoughts about joining us on Discord. I'm impressed with it, especially the fact that it is so simple to post photos. Love to see a picture of your soaking cycling gear steaming in front of the fire at The Craven Arms!
I'm not putting my running/cycling on here any longer as I can't be arsed to write it twice and have no idea how to copy and paste. Also, I'm on my lap top here and Discord is on my phone. No clue how to get both on both!
Visibility good except in Hill Fog
