    Yes it does need a fair bit of knowledge and familiarity to use the dibber software, and there's a license fee to pay. Unless you pay sportident to do it all, and then it adds cost.
    My advice is not to use them for a low-key race, unless you've already bought into the hardware and knowledge.

    I think Llani made some good points on it being a low key affair perhaps to start. I'd also be inclined to consider route and distance on the turnout you are likely to attract but a great idea nonetheless.
