    Hanneke

Don’t know if anybody remembers Hanneke, the Dutch lady, sadly she passed on 30 September. I found out through the Fetcheveryone Forum. She had apparently been suffering from cancer. RIP Hanneke.

This is really sad. I never met her, but I remember her posts on the Forum. She had Lyme disease some years ago, so she has had a rough time, healthwise.

    Me too!

I went up to meet her way back when she competed in the Three Peaks CX

    Quite a character

The 'crazy Dutch woman at the top of the hill' iirc. Sad news.

Oh heaven's, that's terrible news. Here in South Wales she had been a well known character. She had been a popular member of our crew inventing madcap welsh cycling adventures. In later years she had retreated to tend to her lovely converted chapel in Longtown. I saw every now and then, last time was in the early summer as we crossed paths on our bikes in the back lanes around her village. No idea she was ill. Poor Hanneke.

How sad, I met her a couple of times on Wheeze's steambunny adventures. Another great character from the past who will be missed.

Yeah really sad news. I met her at the 3P CX and once, running off Ingleborough, when she was on a run out with another old forumite Dominion (?). I also followed her on Instagram and her page was updated just today with the news

That would have been me, when she was training for 3 peaks CX and Everest Marathon. Everest did her health in quite badly, followed by lymes disease, followed by cancer. Sad news indeed.
