We use the Myo XP, good for the price. I think the Silva S1 is better but it's a step up in price.

Myo XP saw me right in the Howgills pitch black all last winter.
Fitness can't be stored. It must be earned over and over, indefinitely.

What to wear is very dependant on weather
I vary from thin tights and long sleeved tops similar to what I'd wear on a cool summer day, up to light weight fleece tops and bottoms with balaclava, mitts and full event waterproofs(not forgetting ice axe and crampons)
