    Navigation Course

Just had a fantastic weekend on the FRA navigation course at Langdale YH.

Thankyou to all the people who make it happen.

I second that, fantastic job guys a big thank you to all the instructors.

I've taken a lot away from the weekend and personally feel that my goal; to be able to confidently relocate myself, was acheived during the Silver Howe chase (checkpoint number 10!!)

Really enjoyed it and was great to meet all those new people who share the same enjoyment of the outdoors.

Does anyone know if the photo's are going to be posted on the website and where we can see the results for the Silver Howe chase?

Thirded. Fantastic fun, well organised and great to spend time with like-minded people. Is the next one full yet?

Glad you all enjoyed it! I must admit we were impressed at the turn of speed shown (after the night navigation) en route to the pub.......and there were we, still toiling uphill to bring the controls back in. Never have so many head torches moved so fast, so far, downhill

Thanks to Margaret, all the instructors and not forgetting my fellow students for a great weekend. With renewed confidence, I'm even going to try an orienteering event this weekend.

It was good to meet you Chris. Just keep an eye out for the night-time bog snorkellers.........

Ah yes, the unique approach to control 7, just like James Bond (only not so subtle) and it brought you straight to the bridge

    Welcome to the forum kam398.

Something I found out at the nav course is that there are lots of people who read this forum but don't post.

I too had a great weekend, all the supervisors were great and mine had lots of patience, Thanks Steve.

Probably sounded very stupid at times with some of the questions i asked but thats what learning is all about.

Everyone was great and had fun, especially the race to the pub and back again on Saturday night so we didn't get locked out!

I haven't put many posts on before because i was worried would sound like someone who didn't know what they were talking about, and others wouldn't class me as a fell runner! Now i know thats not the case hope to have more to talk about.

    P.S. Headtorches hurt!!
