12 to 20 regular fell runners but plenty of off-road runners with plenty team activitys off-road.
7 teams for the second year in the Calderdale Way relay and we also do Bradford Millennium Way relay and Mary Townley loop event.
Our main yearly race is the Bluebell trail 10 mile in May.

Have a look on the Stainland website at Fell Grand prix that will also give you some idea.

Most clubs don't worry about joining for a while, just go along and see how you feel with them. I've run with Totley and Dark Peak in the past when back in Sheffield, and just turn up for a run. In fact there's no real pressure to join at all unless they want your points in Championship races. In both the clubs I've actually officially joined in the past that was the stimulus to register, not any financial desire to get your money.

And there's Halifax Harriers as well - they have some good fell runners, too.

Both Stainland are Halifax are bigger clubs than Calder Valley, and they do other running disciplines, while CVFR just do fell-running. It depends what you want, really.

I'd agree with Iain - just come down for a few runs with the clubs and see what feels "right".

    Cheers, Bill Johnson

    Hi Bill

I've already been in contact with Thirza, I'm away on holiday from tomorrow but will come down once I'm back.

    Cheers
