    Entry form etc here http://www.dpfr.org.uk/index.php?p=news&id=212

Theres a good report / route description here which I used on a recce this spring http://www.penninefellrunners.co.uk/tankys.htm. The cut off the pennine way to the snake was about the only bit I got right after missing the turn on Black Hill and following the PW all the way to Crowden.

Alan Brentnall's description is good. It answers a lot of the questions regards the routes in particular the section coming off bleaklow where you drop into Upper North Grain. Having done this race and a couple of other one's which take in Black Hill it's probably a good idea to stay high along Tooleyshaw Moss. You will see a reasonable track take you onto the Landy Track as you drop towards Whitelow and Westend Moss. The path drops sooner than the path on the map indicates. The Landy Track is good running surface.

And don't worry about the bogs on Bleaklow or Kinder.. it's the bogs in Marsden you want to worry about... !!!
Tao begets one. One begets two. Two begets all things.

Did the recce in lovely weather on sunday. Explored a few different lines but didn't have the courage to cross the empty reservoir. I wonder if anybody will do that on the day....that's if it's still empty.

Nice one Todboy. I must admit I haven't seen the level so low before so there might well be a few nutters on the day who try that!

Reservoir looked completely empty today with diggers in the bottom of it- is there going to be any prohibition of route choice here this year?

Had fun recceing in the fading light/dark- hopefully means it won't be so much harder if the clag descends.
First run then beer. If no run then proceed directly to beer.

I might even do this if there are any entries flying about, as a get fit run - reckon you'd need to be well 'ard to win it!
