They charge £28 because they can. Just think of those fat joe joggers floating around manchsester wanting to set themselves a target for the year.
People will pay, soley because theythinking theyre doing something good towards themselves.
Don't worry, the gravy 6 will only be £26. A slightly cheaper option.

I've never thought it like that! That means my race works out at 48p a mile, although you do have to cycle 23 of the 31 miles!

Which could open a whole new can of worms, as in, should there be a capped amount per mile for a race

The entry fee is a scandal. But the bottom line is if people want to pay for it the organisers will charge it and be happy with the pot they make. It is a shame that all those people who make it the only run they do this year will miss some of the other fantastic local races.

Last year I made my stand - I refused to enter because of the price and waited for the whole thing to come crashing down as a result. It sold out in 2 weeks flat.

I really cant believe, people would pay so much to run round Manchester, i run round the surrounding areas for free. And i don't have to avoid men dressed in Teletubbie suits.
What is this strange fascination people have in wanting to do these sort of races... afterall we all bitch and moan when we get stuck in Traffic Jams... so why do we want to subject ourselves to this human traffic jam???

It makes no sense to me... and to pay £28 for the Privilidge... that's the sort of behavior that would of have you thrown in an insane asylym, not so long back.

Sadly I admit I ran this last year. I spent the first 10 mins trying to overtake people who were walking as they had sprinted the first mile and were knackered and were weaving all over the bloody road. The only good thing about it was i pissed on the wall of Old Trafford.

Just filled in my 3 Peaks Entry Form.

    £8 for 24 miles.

Thats less than a third the price of the GMRO, 4 times the distance, 40 times the fun and no hand-holding numpties blocking the way from the start line
