    Re: Dunnerdale Fell Race

    From today's Westmorland Gazette:

'One of the favourites for the ladies' race and winner of many Lake District fell races this year, Eryri's Jacki Lee took a nasty fall and had to walk a fair portion of the course, covered in blood, to finish 186th place overall in 67-30.'

    Dunnerdale

High winds, icy temperatures, snow on the fells, thundering streams, a race in the Lake District, what could possibly go wrong? Just hope there's no one hovering around in a helicopter ready to declare an emergency should someone fall knee deep in a bog.

Good luck to everyone taking part in this classic little race, and we trust it will make no more news than squeezing into the sports pages of the Wezzie Gazzette.

What a fantastic race! Loved almost every minute of it. Brilliant route. Clear, dry, bright, light winds.

Not a bit like last weekend, just lacked a bit of the excitement.

    Good race today.

Rob Hope won, from Ricky Lightfoot, Tom Addison, Ben Abdelnoor, John Atkinson and Mark Addison. Ambleside sneaked the team prize ahead of Helm Hill.
Nat White was first lady, with Jane Reedy second.
