The Jack Bloor race on Ilkley Moor in a Tuesday evening in May is a brilliant BS. Lots of (hard luck) stories to be written just about routes over the last 2 checkpoints when you can see the finish but will still be beaten by someone who knows it slightly better. Prize winners get beautiful cork imprints of engravings from the rocks on Ilkley Moor.

I can cover the Peak District and NYM; Anyone want to chip in on other regions of the country? A team attempt, I'd be happy to collate.
    Yes. Keep us posted.

My Welsh FRA handbook arrived this lunchtime, complete with an (almost) full set of provisional fixtures...

Some interesting dates and clashes for those who like to race in and around that part of the world...

One for PeteS: Stretton Skyline clashing with LDMT

Black Mountains on same weekend as South Mynd Tour champs race.

    Peris final weekend in September.

Pen Y Fan clashing with Arenig Fawr, and same weekend as Moel Siabod.

Inter-counties at Moel Eilio May 8th

It's fairly obvious that if you're up north for Moel Siabod, the following day's entertainment is going to be Arenig Fawr, not Pen y Fan.
In his lifetime he suffered from unreality, as do so many Englishmen.

Yes that would seem straightforward... But i have a rolled-over entry to Pen Y Fan for 2021!

It's also the weekend of the Blencathra Champs race! And i'll likely be down in South Wales again the following weekend to defend my Four Fans crown

A big well done to all involved with the latest edition of the FELLRUNNER magazine it is another gem of a read.

As to the PETE BLAND Tribute magazine a finer tribute to an inspirational man could not have been put together and is a great reminder of all the good work that Pete did for our sport over the years, and his memory will certainly live on.

    Thanks again all concerned.

Indeed: it speaks volumes that there were so many people wanting to write their personal tributes to Pete Bland.

There was also another insert with the magazine: a leaflet about heat exhaustion and heatstroke. Clear evidence of the reality of climate change!

The Pete Bland tribute is outstanding. Such a great loss to all his family and colleagues and to the wider world of fell running. Thank you to all involved in putting the tribute together.

I am tired tonight. I spent 2 or 3 minutes looking at the map on page 29, thinking "the route stops short of the water there..." 😳
