    Leadouts in races - Unfair?

Its that time of year again, so time to stir things up a bit.

What do you think about non competitors running alongside their mates/other halves/etc who are competing in races.

Just bloody annoying or plain unfair ? I recognise that there are many potential scenarios for this and many will be fairly harmless and not bother anyone but if they get in the way of other competitors or if advantage is gained then that's potentially a different matter.

What, like pacing? I've never known it.

Ha ha Daz, you must be alone in not realising the importance of the first Wednesday in November and unfair leadouts.

Nobody let on, it'll drive him nuts

Hmmmmmmph...... I smell (unnecessary?) Weds eve mischief....

I think the matter being alluded to.... was not a lead-out...
more of a canter... towards the bottom of a big hill!!!!
And, were it/that a lead out, it might rightly be construed as being unfair...
And, if it were that event, I'm sure the score (if needed) is already settled!?
    Miss Muddy Paws Dad....
    Not clever & often stupid..

There was a bit of a reference to this from Sharon Taylor on the Ben Race programme last night. She had been just beaten into third place by and sounded pretty annoyed about it!

    Sharon said:

"Well I'm a bit annoyed because her boyfriend Lloyd was with her and took her a good way down. But oh well! she was faster on the day by a couple of seconds".

Didn't spot that subtle reference. For someone who missed the programme, you seem to be well versed with the content!

cmon why would that have been brought up after the ben race had been shown earlier
i thought thats what it refered too, i cottoned on as soon as the thread started because i was there at the exact time in the race
end of the day i dont really care about what happened
    why should i
the reason i knew what happened was because i saw it unfold in front of my eyes
