    waterproof gloves

ive suffered for years with cold hands and today in that rain , wind and cold my fingers felt like they had frostbite, i had my usual thinsulate gloves on but i need to purchase some quality waterproof gloves.
i dont want to go through the pain of edale again ever, your thoughts on good quality gloves that actually keep your hands warm and dry would be appreciated

The sealskinz are the one's I used at edale and they worked.
If prone to cold hands you could wear your thinsulates are liners Daz
They are not cheap but they do what they claim.
    Try searching on ebay Daz.

    cheers stagger mate
    sealskins eh
cost hasnt got to come into this one as i think its dangerous when your hands are not functioning correctly
its really weird , i can run on a day like today in a vest and shorts just like i did at edale but my hands become like blocks of ice.

Daz, this answer might not suit you but wear mitts instead.

Gloves are very difficult to make waterproof as there are so many seams and end up quite bulky. Also each finger has to keep it's self warm. It's much easier to make a mitt waterproof and each finger 'Helps' all the others which is more efficient. You can also ball your hands up in mitts.

If you still have cold hands then wear a thin liner glove inside the mitt.

I know of one Dark Peaker in the V50's who won't run with anything else and he finished the Skyline this year with wet but very toasty hands

    Definitely worth a try.

A cheap option is to slip a small plastic bag over each hand. You'll look a complete prat but your hands will stay warm and dry.

    Re: waterproof gloves

ive tried using those thin type surgeons gloves that we have at work that we use for greasy work as a liner but my hands just sweat then chill badly.
someone told me to rub vaseline and a bit of deep heat on them.

today it made for a very painful run , its annoying more than anything because it starts to affect me mentally as it did at edale, it must have taken a good hour to thaw them out when i got back
