I would like to visit whernside and have a go at the 'east face'.

I see there is a 'recognised path' (black dotted line) that meets the public footpath that runs through from winterscales to ivescar farm. Do you think we can use this one David?

Which bit of the route is it we shouldnt use except on race day?

Started with Winter Hill (12m/2900'), then increased 2m each week to 14m, 16m, 18.4m, in hills, with easy week last week (propping up the back at XC nationals). Doing 20m in hills sunday in awful weather. Shins feeling a bit tender to the touch. Might do 2 peaks reccie Sunday after.

    How about you egor?

    Re: three peaks training

trainings going so so, did another reccy with paulh and a couple of other blokes, but it didnt go well for me, was 1/2hr late so ended up catching the rest up as they were coming down pen y ghent and after that it got worse, didnt go up whernside as was knackered and sciatic nerve playing up so ended up running on rd to hill with plan of wiating for them to go up ingleborough, but ended up running back to car in horton, not a good day!

i might try and go up up again to do all or part of it if get time at beginning of april

    How's training going folks ?

Was out this morning hoping to do a 4 hr stint - did manage that time on my feet but must admit had to walk the last 45 mins as I was out on my feet - too darn hot.... I for one will be doing an Indian rain dance on the Saturday night

Not too briliantly at the moment and a bit fits and starts. Toiling against the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, what with my exploding knob last week and bubonic plague this week. I've been forced to revise my expected time down from 4hrs to 4:45 ish

    Re: three peaks training

Starting to get abit worried about taking this on now!!

Managed a few 3 hour odd runs and did the Tour of Pendle route last Sunday, with a few diversions....

Did nt feel too bad after, but, how does The 3 Peaks compare to the TOP?? apart from the extra few miles..

Hmmm. You may notice a subtle difference during the last 7 miles or so.
